Wingello Tigers Cricket Club
Wingello Tigers Cricket Club
The Wingello Tigers are a small family oriented club based in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
The club was established in its current form in 1997 and is named after Bill 'Tiger' O'Reilly. A link that the club holds close to their collective heart.
The township of Wingello holds a population of 574 people. The values and culture of a small town are echoed throughout this club, so much so that they are far more like a family than a sporting club. The family is known for turning out to support one another in every aspect of their sporting and wider lives.
The club is known for continually presenting three competitive sides to the Highlands District Cricket Association's senior competition (1st, 2nd and 3rd grade). Throughout the years, the Tigers have also competed in the HDCAs junior competition. In the season 2020-2021, the Tigers held their first junior blaster program, and are looking forward to continuing this into the future. This season also saw the inaugural women's competition, in which the Tigers placed 2nd.
The club maintains connection to the O'Reilly family through Bill's son, grandson and great grandson. Michael now lives in Wagga Wagga with his family, and each year selects his regions finest players who compete against the Wingello Tigers XI for the Bill O'Reilly Shield. These matches are played at various locations and are always well supported. This is a day that the Wingello Tigers family cherish.
The Tigers are always welcoming of new members, so please reach out and contact us if you would like to hear more about our family club.
